Art of Hairwork by Mark Campbell

 Note From an Artist

The pattern which was dramatically different from the illustration was the ring pattern on
p96.  The braid that I made was really attractive but unlike the picture, it had open scalloped
edges (so it looked a bit like a smaller version of the necklace pattern on p77 with more
frequent scallops).

I also found that the reverse chain braid on p26 looked more like its name (a chain that reverses  through the course of the braid) than the illustration.

In both cased the resulting braids have been attractive and usable but it puzzled me that they were so different from the picture.
