This is an honest and reputable site. This service is provided for folks to make a few dollars selling their hair. However there are some people who try to turn it into something it was not meant to be. Please read the warning signs. Warning--(see below) Although this is a rare situation, I thought I would post it... You do need to be cautious when selling things online. I would suggest you get a temporary email account from your service provider, yahoo or hotmail. This way you can cancel it after the sale. Also don't give out your phone number or address until you are firm on a deal. It is not necessary! Do all your business by email until the sale is finalized. Get a PO Box or have funds sent to, your work address. Best to use paypal. Be suspicious if they want to cut your hair themselves. Ask them why? Tell them you are not comfortable with that. And if they insist than arrange for the cutting to be done at your local solon, with your beautician present. If they are legitimate they should not refuse this offer. If you are under age of 18 it is best a parent helps you with the ad and the emails you receive and reply to. When you get an interested party or an offer. Get all the info from them you can. If you have already accepted an offer you can still leave your ad up and say to other potential bidders that you have excepted an offer but would like to keep their info on file just incase the other offer falls through. Than give the offer or (buyer) a deadline for payment. This way you are not losing time if the original buy falls through. This is why paypal is easier. Buyers can use give a check or credit card to paypal and they can do that is one day. Tell the buyer you have a date or deadline where you need payment made. If they do not follow through than contact the next bidder and so on until you get your hair sold. »Mail Fraud Alert« Suspected Scammers If you have any problems you can contact me

this site and it's content. Comments I want to tell you what happened to me. A man
from Surprise, Az ran the bid up so high I was amazed at the money
he offered. Of course he got the bid. I wrote to him stating how to send the
money and all details He agreed. He told me that he sent the money by postal
money order which was ok as long as I get it. I agreed to send the hair after
getting the money order. I waited for two weeks. I wrote him that no money
showed up. He agreed to send a trace on it three different times. NO MONEY.
THIS SAME STORY WENT ON FOR MORE THAN 6 WEEKS. HE DEMANDED THE HAIR SAYING I
had the money. All this time I went to the post office every day checking on
the money which never came and he still demanded the hair which I wouldn't
give up. I ran traces myself I have several friend at the post office who knew
I was telling the truth. They traced it to his home town post office who
stated that he never came in there because they knew him from other complaints
from other people. Anyway, this went back and forth for more than ten weeks.
Finally I quit all contact with him. He wasted so much time for nothing
I told all other bidders it sold. Now I have to start all over again. MY RECOMMENDATION: Use PayPal and set a payment date or at the least, get a deposit. I just wanted to thank you for your site and inform you that I sold my hair. I sold it for $750 a couple of weeks ago. Also, I just wanted to let you know that I received allot of fake and questionable responses to the ad. I know you have a disclaimer and everything so I'm not really sure what you could do about it. But of the 30 or so responses that I received, probably only about 5 were legitimate. A few people offered to cut my hair in a hotel room, which is creepy, and a few people emailed me asking if I was interested in nude modeling, etc. And one person even sent me a fake check! Again, I don't know what you could do to dissuade this kind of thing, but I just thought I should let you know. Thanks again,
I know that your site already has some warnings about those of the fetish crowd but please stress to them how important it is to exercise caution with potential buyers. I had one offer from a guy whom offered 800, he seemed very straight forward and kind at first. Although later he began to act in a very inappropriate manner. But there several kind individuals, that were very professional and kind. All together it was a positive experience Thank you for the work you do to sell hair. Please remove my hair from the website. I didn't sell my hair. There were several extremely high offers, but none that wanted to complete the deal, so I had my hair styled and didn't have enough to give to locks of love. Also, I thought you may want to warn some of the people trying to sell their hair that the people who offer to cut it often want to tape the whole process and some even want you to act during the process. I did some research and found that the men who do that often sell the videos on the internet for incredibly high prices. There is a certain kind of fetish that the men enjoy seeing women being forced to cut their hair (as they would have the women act). Some even sent me lewd emails asking questions about my personal life. I was a little disappointed, but I will no longer be so naive. Once again, thank you for your service, and best of luck with your business. Just a sellers beware. There are a couple of guys that are asking you to send your hair and that your "money is in the mail". However, they will then tell you that they have received the hair and offer you a lower price. Some of these guys will KEEP the hair for WEEKS and then try and send it back to you claiming that it is "inferior" or that they "can't afford it". DO NOT SEND HAIR UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED PAYMENT and the check clears the bank. You can also send with a confirmation and a no return "sold as is" letter. Shipping hair Overseas????????????? Please remove my post from your website, as I recently sold my hair for $575.
I sold it to someone in Italy, and everything has gone well so far. I
received payment and shipped the hair, but now the package is being held up in
customs because it needs a certificate of cleanliness. Any ideas on how to
get around this one? I take no LEGAL responsibility in the purchase or selling of the items listed here. You make your
own deals. Marlys |
